About me

Profile

Muna A. Ibrahim, an Egyptian, with a T & I degree (translation and interpretation), as well as a post-graduate diploma in linguistics and comparative translation.

My career started more than 11 years ago as a translator, having my contact with the filed through exposure to all types of language documents as a translator for reputable translation agencies in Egypt, where I developed experience with extensive work on legal, financial, media, philosophy, politics, medical and pharmaceutical documents and others. Therefore, I was selected for contribution in the Egyptian National Translation Project, where I started with translating a reference entitled "The Destruction of Yugoslavia" written by a Croatian author called Branka Magas. I was then known for my quality work in the field so that I have always been assigned translations by different entities and businesses including but not limited to:

  • - The Egyptian Ministry of Health
  • - The Egyptian Ministry of Culture
  • - UNESCO Publications Centre in Cairo
  • - The British Council in Cairo
  • - The National American Maritime Organization in Cairo (NAMRO)
  • - Middle East Advisory Group Management- MAIG , one of Egypt's most reputable management and financial consulting firms, Modern Management Centre- MC, a professional training firm
  • - MITSCO Translation & Languages Centre

Afterwards I moved to Kuwait, working for a pharmaceutical company. For career development I joined a reputable financial and management consulting and training firm, an independent office of one of the world's top 8 consulting and audit networks. I'm still working for them to date. Since then, I accumulated knowledge of various disciplines including finance, quality assurance and HR. I have become their senior translator and copy writer. The company is licensed to provide translation and language services. Therefore, I'm their spearhead for the service provision on two levels, eternal clients, including those assigning us translation and language jobs, and internal work as the translation section has acquired a pivotal role in the company's processes, becoming a major player on the copy writing level. I'm now responsible for everything relevant to the company's corporate identity. In addition, I developed experience with formulating corporate and departmental polices and procedures, HR manuals, job descriptions, helping with ISO certification projects, formulating proposals for applying Balanced Score Cards and 6 Sigma methodologies, as well as other consulting projects, in addition to preparing training courses plan for the training services provided by the company. In parallel, the Company's translation section has become on of the major translation and language services providers nationwide, having heavy caliber clients including e.g. Kuwait's giant oil companies like KPC, KOTC, KOC, PIC, KGO, the banking and financial institution sector, shareholding conglomerates including investment, lease & finance, and real-estate companies, the manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as the governmental and services sector.

Every day passes, with new assignments, new contacts, new ideas, and day-to-day-challenges, my knowledge base expends in favour of deeper insight into what I'm translating and writing. My aspiration is moving on the same line for more development especially with having a career path enhancing my original career as a translator and interpreter.

I can be contacted through my cell phone +965-9296847, or my e-mail address, mona_gibreel04@yahoo.com .
